Belfast Cathedral Fam Trip
By Felicity McNeice on 24th August 2014
In June 2015, Oli completed an exciting project for Belfast Cathedral of St Anne, introducing a new visitor experience in the form of a rebrand, new welcome desk and innovative audio tour.
As one of the key agencies involved in promoting tourism projects like this across the Island of Ireland, Oli and the St Anne’s team, which is what the cathedral is commonly known in the city, invited a cross-functional group of staff members from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board to visit the cathedral and experience the new tour for themselves.
A great morning was had by all, with a warm welcome provided by Dean Mann. Otherwise known as Black Santa, many of us were impressed from the start at meeting such an iconic Belfast figure.
The group live-tweeted throughout their experience, and provided some great feedback at the end of their audio tour:
“The audio tour equipment was very high spec, easy to use and lightweight to carry around. Commentary was easy to listen to and seemed in keeping with the tranquil setting of the cathedral.”
‘I liked the beautiful building - both interior and exterior, the added extra of a performing choir as we walked in, doing the audio tour at my own pace, the very user-friendly audio tour, learning about the history of St. Anne's, seeing the Spire from inside the building, the Titanic Funeral Pall and the very peaceful Chapel of the Holy Spirit.”
“The audio tour brought the Cathedral to life and I loved all the little stories and facts!
“The audio tour was very innovative and gave me the right amount of information to keep me entertained. It was also very easy to listen to.”
